Spokesmen for European organizations monitoring Russian's parlimentary election on Monday said the election saw numerous violations of voting law and substantial government efforts to skew the results, DPA reported.
"The authorities interfered in the vote itself ... and there was a whole variety of (election law) violations, said Petros Eftimiu, president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Heidi Tagliavini, head of an Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) observer mission to the Sunday Russian vote, said her team had seen a variety of election law violations as well, among them ballot-box tampering. The group's full report would be prepared in six weeks, she said.
