Ankara, Moscow share same views on regional, international issues: Turkish president

Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Turkey and Russia share similar views on international and regional issues during his meeting with Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow, the Vesti television channel.

"We discussed regional and international issues. We are glad we share similar positions," Gul said.

Gul said Turkey-Russia relations are multi-faceted. He added that the two countries will work to improve cooperation and increase trade turnover from $30 to $50 billion.

Gul said he is confident that his visit to Moscow will open a new page in bilateral relations.

He also invited Medvedev to visit Turkey.
