Cocaine found in stomach of smuggler in Turkey
Police arrested a foreign drug smuggler who tried to enter customs with 1 kg of cocaine in his stomach in the largest Turkish city of Istanbul, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported Monday.
An abdominal X-ray check found 83 capsules in the stomach of a 24-year-old Bolivian student who arrived at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul via Brazil, said the report.
The man will stand trial in an Istanbul court for illicit drug trafficking, it said, Xinhua reported.
Turkey is a key transit route for smuggling drugs to markets in western Europe.
