Turkey's deputy PM says Israel needs Turkey

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said on Sunday that Israel had quarrel with all countries in the region and Israel needed Turkey to breathe, Anadolu Agency reported.

Arinc appeared on a TV program on Kanalturk and replied to questions.

Asked whether there could be a connection between Israel's attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla and terrorist attack in Iskenderun, Arinc said that terrorist organization staged this attack with direction of someone. "Our intelligence officials have been searching for it. We don't have any concrete information now."

A total of 6 Turkish soldiers were killed and 9 were wounded when terrorists attacked with rockets on a military command in southern town of Iskenderun early on Monday (May 31).

On the same day, Israeli naval forces stormed an aid flotilla for Gaza, killing at least 9 people and injuring 30 others.
