Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner arrived in Ankara on Wednesday on an official trip upon an invitation by her Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul, Anadolu Agency reported.

Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner arrived in Ankara on Wednesday on an official trip upon an invitation by her Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkish State Minister Selma Aliye Kavaf greeted Kirchner at the Esenboga International Airport in Ankara.

Kirchner's visit is the first one by an Argentinian president to Turkey in 19 years.

Kirchner is being accompanied by three ministers, two state governors and a large group of businesspeople.

President Kirchner and Gul will hold a tete-a-tete meeting and later co-chair a meeting between the respective delegations.

During Kirchner's stay in Turkey, the two countries will sign various agreements.

President Kirchner will meet with Turkish businesspeople and investors in Istanbul on January 21 in a Business Forum to be organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).
