Russia has made a representation to Charge d'Affaires of Turkey in Russia in connection with holding in this country of anti-Russian conferences, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Friday, RIA Novosti reported.

"On May 15 appropriate presentation was made to Charge d'Affaires of Turkey in Russia in the fourth European department of the Russian Foreign Ministry," Lukashevich said.

He stressed that on May 12-13 Istanbul hosted a series of anti-Russian activities, during which unacceptable remarks against Russia and its leadership were sounded. "Moreover, these gatherings were held with the connivance of the Turkish authorities," the diplomat said.

Moscow believes that the holding in Ankara of anti-Russian activities, members of which directly threaten Russia's territorial integrity and security of its citizens is unacceptable and mars the dialogue between the two countries, Lukashevich said.

"Holding in Turkey activities, members of which directly threaten Russia's territorial integrity and security of its citizens is unacceptable," he said, commenting on the International Conference on the Caucasus in Istanbul, following which a declaration was adopted.

Lukashevich said that such meetings 'cloud atmosphere of partnership between our two countries, and should meet resistance from the authorities'.
