Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov will participate in the opening of the Marmaray tunnel, the Turkish newspaper Aksam reported on Monday.
According to the newspaper, ministers from Japan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Bulgaria and Romania are expected to attend the event.
Turkish Minister of Transport, Shipping and Communications Binali Yildirim said today that the Marmaray tunnel, to be commissioned on October 29, will contribute to the development of not only Turkey but neighboring countries.
According to him, the Marmaray project is a new railway Silk Road.
The minister also stressed that this is not the first global project, implemented in Turkey.
It was earlier reported that Marmaray railway tunnel will be commissioned in Turkey on October 29.
