Turkey has built an 11 kilometer-wall on the border with Syria, the Turkish DunyaBulteni newspaper reported Oct. 15.
It is planned that the length of the wall, which is being constructed, will hit 36 kilometers.
Earlier it was reported that the servicemen of the Turkish Armed Forces started constructing the wall in the province of Hatay on the Syrian border.
At present, Turkey accommodates over two million Syrian refugees. The refugee camps in Turkey are a home to about 300,000 people. The rest of the refugees are scattered throughout the Turkish provinces. In Istanbul alone, there are currently 40,000 refugees from Syria.
Ankara has so far spent at least $6 billion to support the Syrian refugees, according to Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
