Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has arrived in Turkey, reports TRT Haber news channel.
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met the Saudi king at the Esenboga International Airport in Ankara.
The parties are to discuss regional issues and the ways to solve the Syrian crisis.
The Saudi king will also participate in the 13th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to be held Apr. 13-15 in Istanbul.
Syria has been suffering from an armed conflict since March 2011, which, according to the UN, has so far claimed the lives of over 220,000 people.
Militants from various armed groups are confronting the Syrian government troops.
The "Islamic State" (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) and Jabhat al-Nusra are the most active terrorist groups in Syria.
