The World War III has already started, the Turkish media cited Numan Kurtulmus, deputy chairman of the country’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), as saying on Oct. 10.
“As opposed to the World War II, the World War III started due to economic reasons, rather than political ones,” he added. “Unfortunately, Turkey is located in the epicenter of the region which will suffer from economic wars.”
Kurtulmus stressed that there are countries that would like to exert economic pressure on Turkey.
"The economic pressure on Turkey was exerted after the presidential and parliamentary elections that took place in the country on June 24," he said. “There are also countries that want Turkey to weaken and completely depend on the International Monetary Fund.”
“There are forces within Turkey that are interested in an economic crisis,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier.
"From now on, all financial transactions in Turkey will be conducted using the national currency," Erdogan said.
