Cargo transportation from Turkey to Georgia increases

From January through November of 2019, 33,321 cargo transportation by Turkish trucks was carried out from Turkey to Iran, which is 5 percent more compared to the same period of 2018, Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND) told Trend.

Georgia accounts for 3.14 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation from Turkey by trucks for the reporting period, UND said.

From January through November 2019, Georgian trucks carried out 26,888 cargo transportation to Turkey, which is 7 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.

In this period, foreign transport by Turkish trucks amounted to some 1 million cargos, which is an increase of 5 percent, compared to the same period in 2018.

The share of cargo transportation from Turkey by trucks accounted for 77.6 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation.

Cargo transportation by foreign trucks across Turkey amounted to 234,109 units, increased by 3 percent compared to the same period in 2018.

The share of cargo transportation from Turkey by foreign trucks amounted to 22.3 percent.

At that time, 337,808 units of cargo transportation via Turkish trucks were carried out from foreign countries.
