Iran reduces imports of chemicals from Turkey

The export of chemical products from Turkey to Iran decreased by 33.77 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $292.9 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In October 2020, the export of chemical products from Turkey to Iran decreased by 13.91 percent compared to October 2019 and amounted to $34.4 million.

The export of chemical products from Turkey to global markets declined by 12.7 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, equaling over $14.8 billion.

According to the ministry, Turkey’s export of chemicals made up 10.9 percent of the country's total exports for the reporting period.

In October 2020, Turkey exported chemical products worth over $1.72 billion to international markets, which is 10.9 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, the ministry said.

Turkey’s chemical export for October 2020 accounted for 10 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey exported chemicals worth over $18.4 billion abroad.
