Cargo transportation at Turkish Antalya airport reduces

Some 106,704 tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish Antalya airport from January through October 2020, which is 73 percent less compared to the same period last year, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

As the ministry said, during the specified period, domestic flights transported 26,005 tons of cargo, which is 50 percent less compared to the same indicator in 2019.

"During the specified period, 80,699 tons of cargo were transported through Antalya airport by international flights, which is 77 percent less compared to the same period in 2019," the ministry said.

According to the data, from January through October 2020, Antalya Airport served 8.98 million passengers, which is 73 percent less than in 2019.

During this period, 2.73 million passengers were served on domestic flights, which is 54 percent less than the corresponding figure for 2019.

As part of international flights, 6.25 million passengers were served, which is 77 percent less than in 2019.

The ministry noted that in January-October, 62,460 flights were carried out at Antalya airport, which is 68 percent less than in the same period in 2019.

During this period, 24,321 domestic flights were operated, which is 44 percent less than in the same period in 2019.

International flights through Antalya Airport from January through October decreased by 75 percent compared to January-October 2019, amounting to 38,139.

In the reporting period, air traffic in Turkey decreased by 45.9 percent and amounted to 722,084 flights.

From January through October 2020, 70.59 million passengers were served at all airports in Turkey.

During the reporting period, 1.96 million tons of cargo were transported through all airports of the country.
