The cargo turnover of Ankara Esenboga Airport from January through November 2021 grew, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend on Dec. 16.
According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 71,066 tons, up by 29 percent on annual basis.
In the first 11 months of this year, cargo turnover on domestic flights equaled 47,500 tons (an increase of 30 percent on annual basis), and on international – 23,566 tons (rise of 28 percent), the ministry said.
Over the reporting period, the passenger traffic at the airport exceeded 6.3 million people, which is a growth of 31 percent on annual basis. The traffic on domestic flights amounted to 5.2 million people (growth by 25 percent), and on international – over 1.17 million people (increase by 65 percent).
Meanwhile, according to the ministry, the number of flights performed was 61,139, which is 31 percent more than in 11M2020. Of these, 48,609 flights fell on domestic routes and 12,530 - on international routes (an increase of 27 percent and 48 percent, respectively).
The passenger traffic at all airports of Turkey from January through November 2021 exceeded 118.2 million people, and the turnover of goods – over three million tons.
