The cargo turnover of Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport reached 285,720 tons in 2021, which is by 30 percent more than in 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Jan. 12.
According to the ministry, cargo turnover on domestic flights reached 139,027 tons in 2021 (an increase of 36 percent compared to 2020), on international flights - 146,693 tons (an increase of 25 percent).
The passenger traffic at the airport reached 24.9 million people, which is 47 percent more than in 2020.
At the same time, passenger traffic on domestic flights reached 16.1 million people (an increase of 38 percent), on international flights – 8.8 million people (an increase of 68 percent).
According to the ministry, the number of flights reached 181,467, which is 44 percent more than in 2020.
At the same time, the number of domestic flights reached 111,708 (an increase of 34 percent), international flights - 69,759 (an increase of 63 percent).
The passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey reached 128.4 million people while the cargo turnover – 3.3 million tons in 2021.
