Omb studies pre-election situation in Sabirabad

Elmira Suleymanova, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, studied the pre-elections situation in Sabirabad and regions attached to it, the Ombudsman’s Office told Trend.

The Ombudsman was on tour to participate in the workshop on “Right of vote, or election, rights and tasks of observers, dedicated to the forthcoming parliamentary elections”. Attending the event were the chairmen of the constituency elections commissions, representatives from the executive authorities, district prosecutor officers, police, municipalities and non-governmental organizations of Saatly, Salyan, Imishli, Bilasuvar, Kurdamir districts.

Ombudsmen informed the participants in the seminar in the necessity and significance of the democratic elections, provision of free and active participation of electors in the voting, clarified the tasks of the bodies in holding democratic and transparent elections. Suleymanova indicated the necessity of providing the citizens with the ID card, equal yet for candidates for holding pre-elections campaign.

Earlier the Ombudsman had held similar workshops in Sumgayit, Guba, Jalilabad, Absheron, Khizi, and Shaki.
