Georgia suspends Russian gas supply to Armenia due to pipeline accident

Georgia has temporarily cut off Russian gas supply to Armenia since August 20 due to the accident on the main gas pipeline, said the message of Oil and Gas Corporation of Georgia on Aug. 21.

The message notes that the Russian side has been informed about the accident.

Pipeline was damaged by a mudslide in the gorge Devdorak near the Georgian-Russian border, the message said.

The message says that the supply of gas to Armenia will be carried out at the expense of stocks in storage facilities of the country, until the accident damages are fixed.
