Chevron offers Turkmenistan its share in oil and gas exploration, production, processing and transportation

Chevron Vice President Jay Pryor has met in New York with the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov and offered Turkmenistan “services and experience in almost all matters, including oil and gas exploration, production, processing and transportation, petrochemical production, and operations on the sea shelf" according to the Turkmen Government.

Chevron Vice President Jay Pryor has met in New York with the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov and offered Turkmenistan "services and experience in almost all matters, including oil and gas exploration, production, processing and transportation, petrochemical production, and operations on the sea shelf" according to the Turkmen Government.

Berdimuhammadov is on visit to New York to attend the UN General Assembly.

Pryor discussed the prospects of cooperation with Turkmenistan, in particular the possibility of Chevron's participating in joint investment projects in the oil and gas industry.

"U.S. business circles, which show strong interest in cooperating with Turkmenistan, fully support the Turkmen side's initiative, including those relating to global energy security initiated to help to create the conditions necessary for the security of energy supplies," Turkmen media outlets quote Pryor as saying.

Berdimuhammadov said: "Turkmenistan is confidently implementing a policy to increase international cooperation and is open for the establishment of full cooperation on an equal footing with all partners, including leading American companies."

He said Turkmenistan is ready to consider the proposals and review them with a view to long-term programs to develop and modernize the energy secto in the country. Berdimuhammadov noted the attention paid by the Chevron head to the training of Turkmen managers in the fuel and energy industry.
