Thirty two foreign airlines are currently making scheduled and non-scheduled flights to Iran.
Russia's Aeroflot, UAE's Air Arabia, Italy's Alitalia, Turkey's Atlas Jet, Azerbaijan's Azal, Greece's Aegean, Bahrain's Gulf Air, Germany's Lufthansa, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Ukraine International Airlines are among the mentioned airlines, Iran's IRIB reported on August 8.
Foreign airlines make flights from 32 points across the world to Iran's cities of Tehran, Shiraz, Abadan, Isfahan, Mashhad, Urmia, Rasht, Tabriz, Ahwaz, Bandar Abbas, and Kermanshah.
Iran will launch new flights to different destinations in Europe within the next few months, Deputy Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Mohammad Khodakarami said July 7.
There is no problem for increasing the number of flights by both domestic and foreign airlines in international routes, he added.
The Civil Aviation Organization is planning to update its memorandums of understanding with other countries in order to boost the number of weekly flights with equal shares of flights for the two sides, he added.
Some 65 percent of regional and international flights are made by domestic airlines, he noted.
Khodakarami said in April that European airlines seek to increase flights to Iran.
