Iran and Czech Republic have signed a document on establishing cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear technology, a senior Iranian official said.

Behrouz Kamalvandi, the deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), has said that the document defines a framework for interaction in nuclear sphere between the two countries, YJC reported.

Kamalvandi, heading a delegation, arrived in the European country to visit its nuclear research facilities.

Earlier in May, Head of the AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka discussed ways for expansion of cooperation on nuclear safety.

Iran and P5+1 Group – the US, the UK, France, Russia, China and Germany – reached a comprehensive nuclear deal, which was implemented in January 2016.

Under the deal, the world recognized Iran’s right to get peaceful use of nuclear energy.
