Turkey will close its embassy in Syria on March 22, said Foreign Ministry of Turkey, Yeni Shafak newspaper reported referring to diplomatic sources.
Ankara also urged all its citizens in Syria to leave the country, and come back to Turkey.
Despite this, the consulate in Aleppo will continue its work.
Syria has been crippled by the non-stop anti-government protests for a year already. There are daily reports on the deceased civilians and military personnel as well.
According to UN figures, the total number of victims in the country exceeded 7.5 thousand. The Syrian authorities say due to numerous clashes, over two thousand soldiers and police officers were gunned down in confrontations against well armed militants.
