Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi conferred on Tuesday with Egypt President Mohamed Morsi on regional developments, IRNA reported.
President Morsi highlighted Iran's significant role in helping resolve regional crises and voiced his country's readiness to help resolve regional issues in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Referring to common grounds among the Islamic states, President Morsi said when the infidels are united in their wrong path, why we should not be united in our righteous stands.
Iran and Egypt with their great civilization are regarded as benevolent nations and have no problems to broaden relations and cooperation, he said.
President Morsi conveyed his and Egyptian nation's warm greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and his Iranian counterpart President Mahmoud Ahmadinejd.
The Egyptian president lauded the successful performance of the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran.
The two officials also discussed latest developments in the Middle East region and Syrian crisis in particular.
