Azerbaijan, Baku, May 21 / Trend H.Veliyev /

Some 30 percent of the global network's content is available on the DATA-center of the primary provider of Azerbaijan, Delta Telecom, the company told Trend on Monday.

This became possible due to the placement in Google servers center, which significantly increases the quality of end-user access to content.

"For example, today, all the content viewed on Youtube opens directly via the DATA-center of Delta Telecom, rather than via Europe or America. In the future, we consider placement of servers of other companies too," the company said.

Currently, Delta Telecom provides direct access to content services of about 350 global companies - content producers (Facebook, Yahoo, Akamai, Microsoft, Yandex, etc.).

This is made possible by increasing the capacities of international channels.

At present, the total volume of traffic, imported into the country through the network of Delta Telecom, reaches 220 gigabits.

DATA-center company holds about 70 percent of Internet resources registered in the .az domain zone.

The preference when placing Internet resources in the DATA-center is given to national Internet resources.

One of the most important functions of the DATA-center is to reduce costs, and in some cases, to cancel fee for the registration of domain names, which also plays an important role in the development of the Azerbaijani-content resources.

DATA-center of the company was introduced in October 2009 and is a specialized technical site designed for storage of national Internet resources.
