Trend:

During 2002-2014 preferential loans totaling 278.4 million AZN were allocated to 3,040 young entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Sahib Mammadov said Sept.10 at the opening of a business incubator in Guba-Khachmaz regional development center.

"It will facilitate the creation of about 13,000 new jobs," the deputy minister said.

Moreover, various educational activities are carried out in order to attract young people to the business activities, entrepreneurs and young managers are sent to Germany for further training within the framework of the German-Azerbaijani program, he said.

"During 2009-2014 nearly 200 young entrepreneurs and managers took refresher courses held in various cities in Germany," Mammadov said, highlighting the increase in the number of young people among entrepreneurs as a result of works done.

Participants of the business incubator were chosen by the commission formed in July 2014 from the representatives of the Ministries of Economy and Industry, Youth and Sports, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers). The initial stage in the business incubator provides training of up to 20 young entrepreneurs for work in the service, tourism, manufacturing and agriculture sector.

An area of 500 square meters with modern office equipment has been allocated for ensuring the operation of the business incubator in the Guba-Khachmaz regional center.

Alongside with local specialists, the business incubator will also employ foreign experts in the future.

It is also planned to send the participants of the business incubator to enterprises of other countries for training. They will be assisted in establishing business relations.

The deputy minister underscored that it is planned to create business incubators in other economic regions of the country as well.

The creation of business incubators is reflected in 'Azerbaijan 2020: outlook for the future' development concept, 'Azerbaijani Youth in 2011-2015' state program and others.

The event participants also became familiar with the exhibition of export-oriented and competitive agricultural products. Over 100 types of products of around 300 companies from the Guba-Khachmaz economic region were presented at the exhibition.

The official exchange rate on Sept.11 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
