Georgia reduces import of Azerbaijani products

Georgia has imported $493.87 million worth products from Azerbaijan in Jan.-Nov. 2015, or 12.73 percent less than in the same period of 2014

Georgia has imported $493.87 million worth products from Azerbaijan in Jan.-Nov. 2015, or 12.73 percent less than in the same period of 2014, said the report from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

This is while the country imported $565.91 million worth Azerbaijani products in Jan.-Nov. 2014.

Azerbaijan ranks fourth among the countries from which Georgia imports products. The share of Azerbaijani export in the total volume of products imported to Georgia is 7.2 percent.

Turkey accounts for the major part of products imported to Georgia. During the reporting period, the volume of Georgian import from Turkey stood at nearly $1.21 billion, or 17.5 percent of the total volume of import.

China ranks second with the total volume of nearly $535.28 million worth products imported by Georgia (7.8 percent), and the third place belongs to Russia with $534.32 million (7.8 percent) worth products.

Georgia mainly imports gas, petroleum products, electricity and construction materials from Azerbaijan.
