BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Number of employment contracts in Azerbaijan has increased by 400,000 - up to 1.7 million over the past three to four years, and average wage - by 2.5 times, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev said at the "The Role of Entrepreneurship in the Development of the Economy" conference, dedicated to of Entrepreneurs Day on April 25, Trend reports.
According to him, today Azerbaijan ranks second among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in terms of the purchasing power of the population.
"Social insurance fees in Azerbaijan have exceeded 600 million manat ($352.9 million). Labor contracts in country today are concluded entirely in electronic form. Various electronic systems have been created and continue to be created to simplify relations between an employee and an employer," Babayev said.
Babayev also said that the Ministry of Labor is working on preparation of specialized programs in the sphere of advanced training of workers.
"Unified database of vacancies is also being created, where the unemployed can find an appropriate job," Babaev noted.
According to minister, pandemic unemployment assistance was provided to 300,000 families in Azerbaijan, necessary payments were made and support was provided and continues to be provided to the families of martyrs and war veterans.
"Employment opportunities have been created for citizens with disabilities. Today, there are about 60,000 workers with disabilities in Azerbaijan," he added.
