BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Nine contracts with companies from Azerbaijan worth more than $1 million were signed with the assistance of the Astrakhan Fund for Support of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Minister of Economic Development of the Astrakhan Region Mansur Hajiyev said at the conference "Trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the Astrakhan Region and Azerbaijan: current state and prospects" in Astrakhan, Trend reports via TASS.
"There is an entrepreneurship development fund in the Astrakhan region, which is designed to provide all the necessary assistance to business that is registered in the Astrakhan region. In particular, it is the search for foreign clients, the conclusion and maintenance of export and import contracts, consulting," Hajiyev said.
He specified that two Astrakhan companies will also participate in the international exhibition in Baku in May of this year as part of a business mission with the support of the regional authorities.
According to Hajiyev, there are now 21 companies operating in the region with the participation of Azerbaijani capital in such areas as shipbuilding, wholesale trade in timber and construction materials, food, as well as the construction of residential buildings and non-residential facilities.
