BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. Uzbekistan Railways JSC supports the establishment of the "Eurasian Transport Route" International Association, as it will strengthen relations between the railway administrations of the participating countries, the JSC Board Chairman Zufar Narzullaev said, Trend reports.
He made the remark during a consultative meeting of the heads of railway administrations in Baku, focused on the above association's establishment.
"All conditions are being created in Uzbekistan to expand transport and transit potential. Steps are being taken towards the construction and modernization of railways in the country. Additionally, integrated logistics centers are being developed in Uzbekistan, and measures have been taken to improve the regulatory framework in this area," noted Narzullaev.
He added that the establishment of the "Eurasian Transport Route" will contribute to economic growth and the expansion of international connections.
A consultative meeting of the Heads of Railway Administrations on the establishment of the International Association for the "Eurasian Transport Route" has begun in Baku.
The meeting is discussing the draft charter of the association and the draft founding protocol.
The second part of the consultative meeting is expected to feature speeches from representatives of Azerbaijan Railways overseeing various matters.
