One can positively assess the electoral situation in Azerbaijan as all necessary conditions were created in the country for fair competition of political forces, Bahar Muradova, the Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, said in an interview with the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.
She said that the political forces, having a certain social base, experience, observing the requirements of the law, could lead campaigning and achieve certain success.
"Azerbaijan is based on democratic values in the electoral process," she said. "The electoral law and Azerbaijan's experience show that the upcoming parliamentary election will be held at a high level. Moreover, we believe in the objective position of international observers."
Muradova said that the opinions and comments of candidates to MPs, political parties, the media, voters, representing various segments of the population, give grounds to assert that there is a great interest in the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.
"The appeals of the representatives of a number of international organizations regarding the election observation testify to this," she said.
The parliamentary election will be held in Azerbaijan Nov. 1.
