Every meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents considerably decreases differences between the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict sides and increases a degree of understanding, Russian Foreign Ministry Official Andrei Nesterenko said while commenting on the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents' meeting which took place at the Prague Summit, Vesti TV channel reported.

During the EU summit Eastern Partnership in Prague, Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia held meetings in the U.S. Embassy and discussed the issue on resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"Although the rest unsolved issues on the basic principles of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement could not be coordinated, however, we can say that every meeting significantly decreases the parties' disagreement and increase degree of understanding," Nesterenko said.

The negotiations were held in a constructive way, he added.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
