Some 1.702 million square meters of Azerbaijani territory was cleared of mines in February 2013, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend on Thursday.
As a result of the efforts, 974 unexploded ammunition peices and 13 antitank mines were found and neutralized.
Some 484 experts and 118 assistants, as well as six mechanical demining machines and 36 mine detection sniffer dogs participated in the operations.
So far the agency has cleared 218.287 million square meters of land and found and neutralized 678,613 mines and unexploded ammunition.
