NАТО comes out for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, a special representative of the NATO Secretary General in Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons said in a statement today in Erevan during the roundtable “Mutual Relations NATO-Armenia”, Trend reports citing ARKA. He noted the alliance is not going to interfere into the OSCE Minsk Group activities on facilitation of its settlement.

According to him, the alliance stands for independent search for the conflict solution by its sides, and in case of reaching consensus, the alliance is ready to give the opportunity for establishing the political dialogue. Meanwhile, Simmons stressed, NATO cannot serve as the guarantor of the security in the region, as the South Caucasus countries are not members of the alliance.
