Several Turkish citizens were injured after Syrian army helicopters fired on the city of Rasulayn on the Turkish border, CNN Turk reported.
Previously it was reported that the state air force helicopters bombarded Rasulayn which is under the control of the Syrian free army and a massive explosion took place.
During the air strike the residents of Sanliurfa province in the Turkish Ceylanpınar region which is located on the border with Syria, were evacuated to other areas.
Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for a year and half.
According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 30,000.
Over 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
