The Turkish security forces have today detained several people suspected of organizing the explosion, which occurred at Cilvegozu checkpoint on the Syrian-Turkish border in the province of Hatay in February, TRT Haber channel reported today.
The identity of the individuals was not disclosed. According to TRT Haber channel, the information on this issue will be disseminated after the initial examination.
The car was travelling from Syria to the Turkish province of Hatay through the Cilvegozu checkpoint on the Turkish-Syrian border near the town of Reyhanlı on Feb. 11. The car was parked in a parking lot where deliveries of humanitarian aid are made to Syria. The explosion occurred at 15:00 local time.
The death toll as a result of an explosion in the province of Hatay killed 13 people, three of whom were Turkish and 10 were Syrian. Around 27 more were injured, nine of them Turks.
