Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / An attempt by the Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) to hold a demonstration in front of the Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers failed.
Despite several attempts by activists of the Party to get close to the office of the Cabinet of Ministers, they were obstructed by the police. Five members of the organization were taken away in police cars. News of the failed protest was distributed amongst the journalists.
ANIP opposes Azerbaijan Tariff Council's decision on the increase in prices for energy and public utilities. The Party believes the tariff policy pursued by the Government has caused the difficult social situation amongst the Azerbaijani population and a critical situation in the country.
