Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / On 23 September, a protest action for the violation of Azerbaijani's rights to receive an education in the native language will be held in front of the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, according to the Congress of World Azerbaijanis (CWA).
The organizers of the action are CWA, the Coordinating Council of the World Azerbaijanis, the South Azerbaijani National Awakening Movement, the Azerbaijani National Independence Party, and the Dalgha youth movement.
The academic year in Iran begins on 23 September. According to unofficial reports, Iran's native Azerbaijanis comprise 35mln. Many long years they have been combating their national rights and education in the mother tongue. Despite applying to the Iranian Government and international organizations, these requirements have not been fulfilled.
The protest action will be held under the slogan of protection of Iranian Azerbaijanis' rights and observation of their right to an education.
