Georgia, Tbilisi /corr. Trend N.Kirskhalia / The decision of Imedi TV to temporarily cease the broadcasting was an expected decision, said the Active President of Georgia, Nino Burjanadze, commenting on the decision of the TV channel.
On 26 December the Georgian TV channel Imedi temporarily ceased its broadcasting. The Director of the Political Programs, Grigori Targamadze, said that the broadcasting was ceased to protest against dirty political games in the Country.
Targamadze said that after the routing in the TV channel on 7 November, the employees of the channels and their families incurred pressure by the Government. According to him, in the past two days after war of evidences began against founder of the channel, Georgian businessman and candidate for presidency in Georgia, Badri Patarkatsishvili, mass hysteria and psychosis have been taking place through State-controlled channels and it bring the employees of Imedi to very complicated work conditions.
According to Burjanadze, there were journalists in Imedi who have not ties with the events which took place around the owner of the channel, and naturally it would be very difficult for them to work there after the reports which demonstrated oligarch's connection with the coup d'etat.
