Azerbaijan’s Governing Party Hopes Problem with International Recognition of Northern Cyprus Will be Solved

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 March / Trend corr G. Jabiyev/ Azerbaijan's Governing New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) hopes that the problem related to the international recognition of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be solved. "The international community should not neglect the problems of Turkic world," Ali Ahmadov, the Deputy Chair and the Executive Secretary of the NAP, said at a meeting with the representatives of political parties represented in the Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, on 5 March.

Since 4 March, the heads of the youth organizations of Turk, International Unity, Freedom and Reforms of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have been visiting Azerbaijan on the invitation of NAP.

Ahmadov said Azerbaijan has always supported the Northern Cyprus and pays a great attention towards the development of bilateral relationships with it.

In 1992, the NAP was founded in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan (NAR) by Heydar Aliyev, who was then the chair of Nakhchivan Parliament. Present chair of the party is the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
