Opposition Parties can Join Advisory Assembly of Pro-Government Parties of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 March / corr. Trend G. Jabiyev/ The membership of Advisory Assembly of the Pro-Government parties of Azerbaijan can be enlarged. Siyavush Novruzov, the deputy executive secretary of ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP), said to Trend .

YAP has been presiding over the Advisory Assembly (AA) since 28 February. AA, established in 1998 to support Heydar Aliyev in the presidential elections, includes YAP, Ana Vatan Party, Social Welfare, Democratic Enlightenment, Republicans, Democratic World of Azerbaijan, National Statehood and the alliance For Azerbaijan.

The oppositional Vahdat (Unity) Party expressed its wish to join the Council.

Novruzov said that Vahdat party can also join the AA. "It is required to officially appeal to the party for this purpose. But, there has been no such appeal as yet. If there will be any, we will discuss it," he said.
