Azerbaijani Ruling Party Realizes Joint Projects with US International Republican Institute

Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 July / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) will realize joint projects with the US International Republican Institute (IRI). "Joint projects, to be realized by the IRI with the NAP, play an important role to improve the party's action and especially to increase the role of youth in the life of the party," Ali Ahmedov, executive secretary of the NAP, said at a meeting with Jake Johns, the head of the Baku office of the IRI.

The meeting focused on cooperation between the NAP and the IRI.

Johns stated that their organization was interested in enlarging relations with the NAP.

Heydar Aliyev, the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan, established the NAP in 1992. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is the current chairman of the ruling party, which has been in power for 15 years.
