Special Arrangements Prepared for Watchdogs in Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 July / Trend corr. E.Babayev / Special arrangements were prepared in Azerbaijan for watchdogs. At the same time, special booklets will be developed for watchdogs,' Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, said in the news-conference on 28 July.

The decision to hold the presidential elections on 15 October was made in CEC today's meeting. CEC has approved the calendar plan of main arrangements to prepare and to hold the elections.

Panahov said that posters to show rights and duties of watchdogs were hanged out in every election centre. About 60,000 watchdogs attended at the latest elections in the country. The number of watchdogs is also expected to be so high in the upcoming elections. Azerbaijan takes leading to develop the list of electorates amongst the European countries. The names and surnames of about half million of people have been corrected so far. There is no ideal list of electorates in any country, Panahov said.
