ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 7. Azerbaijan received about 2,512 citizens of Turkmenistan in April this year, Trend reports.
According to Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency, these figures are more than 34 percent higher than in the same period last year, when the number of tourists from Turkmenistan amounted to 1,873 people.
The total number of Turkmen citizens who visited Azerbaijan from January through April this year reached 10,167 people, which is 51 percent more than in the same period of the previous year, in which the number of tourists amounted to 6,721 people.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, 726,284 foreign tourists visited Azerbaijan, which is 39 percent more than in the same period last year, when 523,305 people arrived in the country.
The number of Turkmenistan's tourists visiting Azerbaijan more than doubled last year, amounting to 26,015 people compared to 11,188 in 2022.
