Georgia, Tbilisi, 26 September / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ At today's meeting, 110 MPs of the Georgian Parliament voted for establishment of a temporary parliamentary commission to study the August events.
"The commission will operate so that to reply to all questions and to meet the interests of the public," Speaker David Bakradze said.
The temporary commission will study the causes and consequences of the deployment of Russian troops and Moscow's other actions.
The Parliament will form the commission and will elect a chairman. Leader of the We Ourselves party, opposition MP Paata Davitaya has been reported to take the chairman position.
Oppositionist Jondi Bagaturiya was the only MP to openly voice his protest against the candidacy.
Non-parliamentary opposition doubt about objectivity of the commission. They believe the August events will be studied by the representatives of the authorities and their satellites from parliamentary opposition.
