Tehran's Court Department No. 1192 delivered a verdict against Rahqosayan Xodro employees. The individuals were accused of fraud.
Defendants were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 15-19 years and state fines. They were also prohibited from establishing a new company within 10 years.
Earlier 20 Rahqosayan Xodro employees were arrested. They were accused of embezzling a large sum of money belonging to the public. Some 1,900 people filed complaints against the accused.
Rahqosayan Xodro misappropriated billions of Iranian toman that belonged to the public by promising them cars. The company's director and his three assistants were arrested in June 2008.
Rahqosayan Xodro gave clients 3,500 cars until 2006, but has not issued a single vehicle since.
