The delegation of the Georgian foreign political department headed by deputy foreign minister Alexander Nalbandov visited Dublin within political consultations Georgia-Ireland.
Extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland Georgi Badridze also participated in the consultations.
The meeting was held with Ireland's minister of state of European affairs Dick Roche, as well as members of the parliamentary group on European affairs within the visit, the Georgian foreign ministry's information and press department said.
The sides discussed actual issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Ireland during the meeting. Special attention was paid to such problems as relations between Georgia and EU and its participation in the initiative Eastern partnership, major directions of the country's integration in European structures, situation in the South Caucasus, prospects of conflict settlement and regional cooperation.
Ireland's side considered its position about absolute support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Significance of activity of EU supervisors' mission in Georgia consisting of several representatives of Ireland was stressed.
The sides confirmed readiness to continue work to intensify bilateral relations during consultations. Special attention was paid to development of relations between parliaments of both countries.
The sides agreed to hold regular political consultations.
