Georgia, Tbilisi, Sept. 3 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

The Georgian authorities did not allow the members of the Georgia-Russia public commission, the Russian journalists Maxim Shevchenko and Vladimir Mamontov, to enter the country. The country refused their entry to Georgia due to repeated violation of the Georgian legislation and the illegal visit to the unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, sources in the Georgian law enforcement agencies told Trend .

The delegation arrived from Yerevan in the evening on Sept. 2, but the Georgian border guards allowed only the RIA Novosti journalist, Alan Kasayeva to enter the country.

According to the Georgian legislation, Georgia had the right to arrest law violators, Shevchenko and Mamontov, at Tbilisi airport and collect fines. However, they were just expelled from the country.

Georgian members of the commission, including Malkhaz Gulashvili, were waiting for the Russian delegation in the Tbilisi International Airport.

Despite this demarche, the representative of RIA Novosti, Alan Kasayev, went to meet with the Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, as it was including in itinerary of the Russian delegation's visit.
