The United Nations (UN) will send humanitarian aid for earthquake victims in the Oni region of Georgia, by a request from the Georgian Refugees' Affairs and Settlement Ministry.

The United Nations (UN) will send humanitarian aid for earthquake victims in the Oni region of Georgia, by a request from the Georgian Refugees' Affairs and Settlement Ministry.

More than 90 homeless families will be provided with tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, pillows, water and other necessities.

The earthquake on Sept 8 measured 8 in magnitude and its epicenter was in the Oni region of Georgia. There were no casualties, but there was significant damage.

On Sept.8, one more earthquake, measuring 6 in magnitude, took place. The epicenter was again close to Oni. Information on further damage has not yet been received.
