The Azerbaijani pro-governmental party chairman will not nominate for parliamentary elections.
"I do not intend to nominate my candidature for parliamentary elections, despite our party will take part in parliamentary elections," chairman of the Azerbaijani Democratic World Party (ADWP) Mammad Alizadeh told Trend
According to Alizadeh, he is not going to nominate in order to give this opportunity to the youth.
"I am an old man. It will be possible to achieve higher results of the legislative body's activity, if the youth is dominate in the Parliament," Alizadeh said.
The parliamentary elections were held in Azerbaijan in autumn this year. Formerly, the elections were held in November 2005. In Azerbaijan, the parliamentary elections are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
"We are going to nominate candidates from minimum 70 constituencies. We will refine the list in March," Alizadeh said
The ADWP was established in 1992 and passed registration at the Justice Ministry in 1993. The ADWP is headed by Mammad Alizadeh. The Party supports the policy of the New Azerbaijan Party, which came to power in 1993
