Many people in Azerbaijan think that an eight-month absence of U.S ambassador is the result of a problem in relations between the two countries, but it is not so, the U.S embassy in Azerbaijan public policy department head Terry Davidson said.
"The absence of ambassador is associated with the internal process in the United States. It is not connected with the relations of the United States and Azerbaijan", Davidson told Trend today. According to him, the process of determining and approving a candidate for the post of ambassador to the White House is passed very slowly.
The post of U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan has been vacant since June 2, 2009.
