Chairman Hu Jintao met with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent, Xinhua news agency said.

Views on intensifying the friendly cooperation between the two countries, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest were exchanged.

The agency reported that it was the second meeting of the presidents for the year. Two presidents met in Shanghai in May 2010.

June 9 Hu Jintao Arrives in Tashkent for a state visit to Uzbekistan. In addition, he participates in the 10 th meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held in Tashkent.

Berdimuhammedov participated in the Tashkent SCO summit upon the invitation.

The agency reported that China-Turkmenistan friendly cooperation develops rapidly recently. "The countries intensify bilateral contacts at the highest level. Political mutual trust is maintained. Mutually beneficial cooperation in economy, trade, energy, humanitarian and other fields develop rapidly. China and Turkmenistan firmly support each other on important issues affecting the vital interests of each other, while maintaining close interaction on international and regional issues.  

Commissioning of the pipeline "China-Central Asia" at the end of last year marked that Chinese-Turkmen cooperation has reached new heights.
